How to Apply Perfumes

Think you know all there is to applying perfumes? Wait, is that even a question, you ask? Well, yes-you see, there are ways to do it that ensure you get the most of your product.

  • Storage: It’s best to store your perfume in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Store it in the refrigerator and increase the shelf life by a few weeks! Plus, it’s great for summers!

  • Best points: Applying perfume on our pulse points ensures that the heat radiated from those areas (which is more than elsewhere) helps diffuseit better. Pulse points include- behind the ears, on the neck, collarbone, behind knees, inside of the elbows, on the wrists, décolletage, and even on the hair!

  • Layering: To subtly increase the fragrance, apply perfume right after a bath, after you’ve moisturized the skin. Choose moisturizers that aren’t heavily scented. This ensures that the final aroma doesn’t end up being too much. An alternative to scented moisturizers is petroleum jelly which can hold you perfume longer.
